Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world , bible perspective

 In the book of Romans 12:2, the holy scriptures presents an interesting admonition to christians.

" Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

The above verse  charges believers in   Christ Jesus on some things to do not be conformed to the patterns of this world  look at while in this world, these can be summarised as below.

1. We are being warned of conforming to the patterns of the world, this simply means , following the ways of the world which are contrary to the teachings of the bible. In everything we do, we should always ask ourselves , what does the word of God say concerning the situation or the subject.
2. Transformation, instead of conforming to the patterns of this world, we should being transformed or changed in our mind , this renewal of mind come through reading God's word. The bible mentions in Romans 10:13 that faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God. The more we get exposed to word of God , the more our mind gets renewed to understand the will of God for us.
3. The will of God known through renewing our mind and not conforming to the patterns of this  world  leads to   us tasting and approving his good , pleasing and perfect will.

In conclusion, let's not get conformed to the patterns of this world, rather let's be renewed in our mind to understand what the will of God is in Christ Jesus for us.
